Visitors

Visitors are welcome to tour our demonstration gardens consisting of: butterfly garden, ginger display, bromeliad garden, vegetable garden, an herb garden, and native gardens.  Our grounds are designed and maintained by some of the Master Gardeners of Duval County and volunteers.  Our gardens are open to the public from dawn to dusk except when we have rentals and the “Private Party” sign is posted at the driveway entrance.

History and Fun at Mandarin Garden Club

Fun blooms here

Friends

With circle meetings, we create social ties, and a connection to our community. The circles meet monthly, unless there is a General Meeting. There is usually a speaker, and some kind of food. Members may attend all of the circles. In fact, you are encouraged to do so when you first join, so as to find your peeps.

Fun

Games, dinners, lively events, such as

  • FYI – a weekly dinner group
  • Horticulture – formerly Weeding Wednesday – where members work in the gardens and learn from each other
  • Game Day – Mexican Train has been played at our club, monthly, since 1945!  There are also tables of  Mahjong, and sometimes other board games.

Flourish

A gardening club naturally helps things flourish – we support our community members through learning, we nurture children through hands-on gardening education (Sprouts), and care for those in need through various charitable efforts be it growing veg for the Food Bank, or decorating lunch bags for the Meals on Wheels program. The Crafty Ladies have a lot of fun; they meet weekly and make all sort of stuff, including fabulous decorations for our events!
